Coffee Pods the way forward for great coffee
Coffee Pods are fresh ground coffee encapsulated in paper which is then use in an ESE espresso or Senseo coffee machine to give you a great tasting cup of coffee when you want it, without all the fuss of using your roasted coffee beans, grinding them correctly and placing them in your espresso machine.
The reason that coffee pods can deliver such a better tasting cup of coffee is that the coffee beans are roasted in the factory in a computer controlled Roster, then the beans are ground to the correct 'grind' using a grinder that can be adjusted by the micron, then the pods are made and packet in a Nitrogen environment, so that in the individual foil pack there is no oxygen present to 'attack' the coffee, and so the result is a perfect cup of fresh tasting aromas and flavours, the way coffee should be.
This also means that the consumer can keep a greater range of coffee blends in the cupboard, as the coffee pods have a shelf life up to 18 months, unlike coffee beans or ground coffee that will start to deteriorate within a few hours after being opened and exposed to oxygen.
The difference between ESE coffee pods, and Senseo coffee pods is the size, 'ESE' which stands for 'Easy Serve Espresso' are 44mm in size and are 'hard' pods, where as the Senseo pods are 62mm and are 'Soft' pods.
ESE (also know as Illy Pods) has been accepted as the 'Industry Standard' after being developed by the Illy coffee company in Italy.
The Senseo coffee pod was a development of Philips Company and designed to produce a full 8oz cup of coffee
Coffee pods that are available from Coffee Sense include the following blends: Brazilian, Costa Rican, Columbian, Kenyan AA, Italian, French Roast, Java Mocha to name just a few, as well as of course Decaffeinated coffee, and Swiss water Decaffeinated.
